Post-workout Protein Smoothie

After a workout I enjoy having a smoothie. Well I always enjoy having smoothies. It’s a quick, refreshing way to replenish the lost minerals and vitamins. Usually I am not hungry right after working out but if I don’t eat something substantial I will be extremely hungry later. Plus having a protein smoothie after exercising is the perfect way to recover your muscles.

All the ingredients are filled with nutrients good for you. Bananas with potassium, gojiberries with vitaminC, cacao nibs with antioxidants, plus many more. This chocolate smoothie is so rich yet so healthy. Cacao is the right superfood you want to have after working out. It helps your body recover more quickly and it relaxes your muscles.

Recipe:

  • 2 frozen bananas
  • 1/2 cup of almond milk
  • 1 scoop of Protein Powder (Sunwarrior Protein)
  • 1 tbsp of cacao
  • 1 tbsp of goji berries
  • cacao nibs

Blend all the ingredients together until smooth. I start with the bananas, almond milk and then add the powder so it doesn’t stick all over the sides of your blender.

I think its a very personal decision which protein powder you want to use. Made of clean, plant-based food, without any weird chemical ingredients I can’t even pronounce.
